The Celebration of Birth Doula Academy has been offering professional Doula Training since 2011, we believe giving birth is a sacred ‘rite of passage’ – an initiation into a whole new way of being in life as parents. Yet in many cultures today, birth is more out of control and disconnected from the deep source of knowing, trusting and woman-centred care than ever before. Now it is time to turn the tides and reclaim holistic birthing practices!

The evidence shows that when a Doula provides continuous support in labour,  both mother and baby are more likely have a positive birth experience and a more successful postpartum bonding time. SACRED BIRTH DOULA TRAINING is for you if you are –

All the Celebration of Birth Doula Training courses offer comprehensive training, whether face-to-face or online, you will learn a range of inspirational tools that give you the foundation and knowledge to become a confident Sacred Birth Doula, including educational, experiential, creative and healing processes, practices you will be able to share with your clients immediately.

3 TRAINING OPTIONS

Choose the training that best suits you –

• IMMERSION Sacred Birth Doula – 4-day face-to-face, in-depth training, with required reading & pre-course study. Followed by 18 months personal Mentoring. Registrations OPEN
• EXPANSION Sacred Birth & Postpartum Doula – 9-month face-to-face & Live online, comprehensive training and personal Mentoring. Dates March – November 2025 (see full details of dates), registrations OPEN.
• ONLINE Holistic Birth Doula Training – in-depth, self-paced home study, includes 48 Lessons, including video lectures, interviews and presentations, audios and comprehensive manual… with optional Certification & Mentoring module*. Registrations OPEN to begin study immediately on enrolment.

Whichever training you choose – on completion you will feel confident and empowered to work with clients immediately, supporting pregnant women/couples to generate feelings of trust in the birth process and clarity for conscious birth choices.

You will receive valuable personal Mentoring & Guidance as you complete the required 3 student doula births to receive your Certificate of Completion. *NB this module is optional add-on for the Online training.

You will also have access to a private FACEBOOK DOULA GROUP – an active forum to stay connected, be up-to-date in all thing birthing and receive support from experienced doulas and mentors.

Who becomes a Doula?

You may already be working in an associated field, such as women’s health, previous students who have trained with us include Pre-natal Yoga Teachers, Childbirth Educators, Midwives, Naturopaths, Massage Therapists… however, NO previous pregnancy/birth experience is necessary to attend the training, simply a desire to make a difference in the world of birth and beyond. For those who do not have children – being a mother yourself is not necessary to become a skilled and supportive ‘maiden doula’.

Experienced Doulas are welcome to join as a ‘Refresher’ to previous studies and have valued the in-depth learning and personal growth aspects of the training as professional development on the doula path. For those who have already undertaken Prenatal Yoga or Doula Training this workshop will enhance your skills and give you fresh inspiration as a sacred birth worker. (NOTE: the professional development option does not included personal mentoring unless requested)

Face-to-Face or Online?

As a Doula you will be working with pregnant women and their families during one of the most meaningful times of their lives – it is a privilege and a blessing to share this intimate time with your clients and one that requires a high level of personal awareness.

For this reason all of our trainings offer a solid foundation in both education and inner exploration, enabling you to feel grounded and confident in the support you offer as a doula. The sacred birth training courses include personal Mentoring as you complete the required 3 student doula births (optional extra module for the Online Doula training).

The Celebration of Birth Doula Training IMMERSION is only offered with the face-to-face, four day module and comprehensive follow-up mentoring and support as you complete the practical aspects of becoming a Doula in your own location.

The Sacred Birth EXPANSION, our most comprehensive doula training, offers both face-to-face and online sessions, this suits for those who can attend the three in person sessions near Byron Bay, Northern NSW and be present at the monthly online workshops over the 9-month period, this is one of the most in-depth doula training courses in Australia.

The ONLINE Sacred Birth Doula training, is a collaboration with Bliss Baby Yoga, specialists in feminine yoga, including Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training, and leaders in a nurturing, feminine approach to online learning. This comprehensive training gives you the opportunity to study anywhere in the world at your own pace, and includes essential mentoring when you begin to attend student births.

Anna Watts is a professional Childbirth Educator & Doula Trainer who has been working with pregnant women/couples for over 30 years; her wide experience includes Diploma in Childbirth Education, Diploma in Counselling, Cert IV Training & Assessment, trainer of prenatal yoga teachers, doulas, facilitating birth classes, prenatal yoga and supporting many births as a doula. PLEASE NOTE: Face-to-face courses are held in small groups and places fill quickly; where a date indicates ‘WAITLIST’ please contact us before making payment. 

Once a place has been offered, payment of the deposit and completion of Registration Form is required within 7 days to confirm your registration.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registrations are transferable up to 30 days prior to commencement of training. You may transfer your registration to another person not already enrolled in the training during this time.

Cancellation more than 60 days prior the training, will receive a full refund of all monies paid, LESS a $100 administration fee.

Cancellation between 60 and 30 days prior to the training, will forfeit the deposit plus 50% of balance of fees due/full payment.

Cancellation less than 30 days prior to the training, will be liable for the full course fees.

In exceptional circumstances, cancellation within 30 days of the training, will only receive a refund at the discretion of the organisers if the place can be filled.
